Usher to Jimmy Fallon: I’m the Black Larry David

Stepping out for a media appearance, Usher showed up at Rockefeller Center for an interview on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night (March 25).

The “You Remind Me” singer chatted about his new gig as a coach on “The Voice,” and also discussed his new take on comedy.

Usher explained, “I want to prepare you because you guys are gonna get used to a different person. My humor doesn’t always connect. I kinda branded myself. I’m the new Larry David. I’m the black Larry David. I’m kinda misunderstood. I curb your enthusiasm.”

With regard to his fellow “Voice” men Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, Usher noted,“My humor is a little bit slower. Sometimes it may go over people’s heads.”
