NBC Moves “Smash” to Saturday

Making shifts to its ever-changing lineup, NBC announced on Wednesday (March 13) that “Smash” will move to Saturdays from its Tuesday time slot.

Seventeen episodes were ordered for the show, which follows the behind the scenes drama of a Broadway musical, and the switch is set to begin on April 6.

Taking its place on Tuesdays will be a two-hour finale of “The New Normal” on April 2, and Eva Longoria’s dating show, “Ready for Love,” will fill the spot starting on April 9.

Even before the change was announced, it was assumed that “Smash” would not return for a third season due to low ratings.
