Carly Rae Jepsen Cancels Boy Scouts Concert to Support Gay Rights

She’s a world-famous pop star with strong convictions, and it seems Carly Rae Jepsen has a big problem with the Boy Scouts of America’s stance on openly gay members.

The “Call Me Maybe” songstress cancelled her appearance at the organization’s National Scout Jamboree in July because they have banned homosexual men from being leaders.

Jepsen declared, “As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer.”

“I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe.”
