George Clooney Wins German Media Award

Jetting to Germany after the post-Oscar parties, George Clooney accepted the Deutscher Medienpreis' award at Kongresszentrum in Baden-Baden on Tuesday (February 26).

The Academy Award winner won the German media prize for using his starpower to bring attention to humanitarian issues and peacebuilding.

Special recognition was paid for his work to bring attention to the suffering of those in the Darfur region of Sudan.

The dashing 51-year-old actor recently launched a new tequila brand called Casamigos which will assist his efforts in Sudan by capturing imagery of potential threats to civilians. Speaking to E! Online, George explained, "I have a satellite over South Sudan that I'm trying to keep some people alive with. It costs me a lot of money every year so now I'm getting it paid for."
