Box Office: “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” Claims the Top Spot in Slow Movie Weekend

In a slow movie going weekend, "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" took the top spot at the box office for January 25-27, 2013.

Paramount's Jeremy Renner fronted action fantasy movie debuted with $5.9 million in earnings for Friday, with overall weekend earnings of $18 million.

After taking the top spot last week, Jessica Chastain's horror flick "Mama" slides in to second place, garnering $3.8 million on Friday, with a weekend take of $13.2 million.

Rounding out the top five at the box office in earmarked earnings are Jennifer Lawrence's "Silver Linings Playbook" ($9.3 million) in third, "Zero Dark Thirty" ($9 million) in fourth, and the crime drama "Parker" ($7.2 million) in fifth.
