Jordin Sparks is supporting a good cause during the Labor Day weekend. The season 6 winner of "American Idol" took part in raising awareness and fund for the Muscular Dystrophy Association by doing what she knows best, singing, at the 2011 MDA Labor Day Telethon.
The 21-year-old took the stage inside the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada last Sunday (September 4) night after being introduced as the "extremely talented" recording artist by one of the telethon's hosts Nigel Lythgoe. She delivered a beautiful rendition of "The Cure".
After the show, the "Battlefield" singer took to Twitter to express her excitement for being a part of the 46th annual telethon that drew in $61.5 million, which is $2.6 million more than last year. "It was an amazing experience 2 perform 4 the MDA families last night & the Jerry Lewis tributes were very well deserved!! Loved the kids! <3," so she wrote.
