The Damon Salvatore depicter revealed that he got totally nude in front of the Elena Gilbert depicter while shooting the opening scene for the third season of “The Vampire Diaries”.
“I’d spent almost two days on set completely naked,” so the 32-year-old Lousiana-born actor told Entertainment Weekly. “Which is kinda awesome, because as if I wasn’t close enough to our crew members, I feel really close after that.”
“The first thing we see is Nina’s reaction,” he continued. “What if I was completely naked and we had elephant ears and double-stick tape, and I put them on each of my thighs, and ultimately, she would be staring at a very small, young elephant.”
The former “Lost” actor then laughed before adding, “The reaction that we got was f—ing amazing!” He went on saying, “I hope and pray that that is what we used in the edit because it was such a natural ‘Ohmygod!’ reaction.”
In a different interview with E!, Ian spilled a hint about Damon and Elena’s relationship in the upcoming season of the hit series. “There’s a really cool dynamic between Elena and Damon that’s happening right now with their banter,” he said. “They’re pretty cute. They’re like a little married old couple.”
He said of Damon’s character, “I don’t think he ever saw his life ending up this way. He’s now stuck protecting this girl who he’s in love with, who is 150 years younger than him and he can’t have her.” He added, “Because, she doesn’t want him and his brother’s girl, and even for Damon he’s not going to stoop that low.”
The third season of “The Vampire Diaries” has been premiered on Thursday, September 15 at 8 P.M. EST on The CW. Soon after the season opener, a preview for the next episode called “The Hybrid” landed online, presenting Elena, Damon and Alaric hunt for a werewolves during the full moon to find Stefan.
