Popular talk show host David Letterman was the subject of a death threat Wednesday on a jihadist website over remarks he made about Al Qaeda.

The portal Shumukh-al-Islam issued the threat, according to SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks extremist websites.

In his late-night program, Letterman made fun of the death of suspected terrorist leader Ilyas Kashmin, who died in a drone strike in Pakistan in June.
