So Paris Hilton appeared almost unrecognisable as she posed in all black leather get-ups for a dark, risqué photo-shoot for V Magazine.
The 30-year-old heiress displayed a blunt fringe and smoky eyes as she showed of her enviable body in the black and white shots.
In one picture, the reality star poses topless in an unusual Gothic-style oversized coat with a high collar and web like straps.
Her long bleach, blonde hair fell straight down over her chest, protecting her modesty.
In another, she sits on a stool in nothing but a leather jacket and thigh high black snake-skin boots, her eyes closed and provocatively grabbing at her own thigh.
The newly-single star appears almost doll-like in the shots with her long blonde hair and flawless complexion.
In the accompanying interview, Paris discussed her rise to fame and how she developed the Paris Hilton brand.
‘I moved to New York when I was 15 and got invited to all those clubs and parties, and this whole socialite scene opened up for me- that’s when it all changed.’
Having launched her TV career with the reality show The Simple Life, Paris is now showing people the real her with her new show The World According To Paris.
Paris reveals that one of her favourite things about her new show, is that she gets to let down some of the public defence mechanisms she has developed over the years.
‘I get to use my real voice. I love it (the show,) because its showing more of the real me, as a business woman. I wanted to show what it’s like to be in my world.’
The heiress admits to getting her inspiration from other powerful women.
‘I have always admired Marilyn Monroe, because the camera loved her. Audrey Hepburn, for being so classic, and Kate Moss. I have always looked up to Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey,’ she said.
And Paris insists that people’s opinions of her aren’t always correct.
‘There’s a lot that goes into this. It didn’t just happen. I’ve worked for fifteen years,’ she added.
But Paris admits she likes to live life with a work hard, play hard mentality.
‘I’m very fun, and I’m very daring. I don’t copy anybody,’ she said. ‘I’m like my own Barbie doll!’
