The ‘Judas’ singer only receives three nominations, while the ‘E.T.’ hitmaker gets nine nods including Video of the Year.Eccentric singer Lady GaGa no longer dominates the nominations for MTV Video Music Awards. In 2010, the “Pokerface” hitmaker has got 13 noms, the biggest in MTV history. However, she only gets 3 nominations this year; Best Female Video for “Born This Way”, Best Art Direction and Best Choreography each for “Judas”.

Replacing the Mother Monster as the ruler of this years’ MTV VMAs nominations is Katy Perry. The “I Kissed a Girl” hitmaker nabs 9 nominations, including the most wanted bid for Video of the Year and Best Female Video for her hit “Firework”, Best Pop Video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, as well as Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Special Effects for “E.T.”.

Trailing behind Perry is English singer-songwriter Adele. She grabs 7 nominations, including Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, all for her hit single “Rolling in the Deep”. Kanye West, meanwhile, is the top male nominee with 7 nods for his music videos, “All of the Lights” and “Power”.

Other stars who also earn multiple nominations is Bruno Mars who gets 4 noms for his hit “Grenade”. Meanwhile, Beyonce Knowles, Eminem, 30 Seconds to Mars as well as Nicki Minaj all racked up three nominations. The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will be aired live from Los Angeles on August 28. Winners are chosen through public voting which opens starting Wednesday, July 20.
