Charlie Sheen’s New Show

Charlie Sheen is taking another stab at winning, a phrase he coined during his recent episodes of erratic behavior this spring. The actor, who was fired from Two and a Half Men in March, plans to launch a new series based on the 2003 movie Anger Management.

The film, starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson, centers around a man who is ordered to attend anger management sessions, ironically led by a therapist who needs anger therapy himself.

“I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept,” Charlie said, noting that this time around, production will be on his own terms.

Lionsgate Television announced Monday that they will be producing the sitcom, adding that Sheen will have a “significant ownership stake” and “a certain amount of creative control.” However, Charlie’s role in the series has yet to be publicized.

Charlie’s anger issues over the creative direction of Two and a Half Men led to his termination from the show. Men will return to CBS in the fall for its ninth season, with Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie.
