While the 'Baby' hitmaker was reportedly knocked down by a cop on the launching day of his new fragrance in NYC, a rep from the police department claims '[Bieber] was not even touched.'Justin Bieber sent his rep to clarify the unpleasant moment at the Macy's Herald Square in New York City on Thursday afternoon, June 22. Through the rep, the Canadian teen heartthrob confirmed that the incident was a pure misunderstanding. Not only that, a spokesman of NYPD also claimed that the 17-year-old singer "was not even touched" on the mini riot.

"This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved," Justin's publicist told The Hollywood Reporter. "The event went very well." The police's rep added that there was no attack on the popstar, and that the crowd was "not out of control." The rep said, "One of his bodyguards failed to follow lawful order. [Bieber] was not even touched. The only person touched was the bodyguard."

Previously, there was a headlining report mentioning that on the launching day of Justin's new fragrance "Someday" at the shopping center, the boyfriend of Selena Gomez was tackled down to the floor by a man who jumped the barricade to shield him from unruly crowd. According to eye-witnesses, as the "Baby" hitmaker exited the doors to greet fans, the man leaped over the metal barrier and grabbed him.

TMZ reported furthermore that the man was an undercover NYPD officer, and the "Never Say Never" hitmaker and his security team, without knowing that the man was a police, reacted defensively because they thought he was an attacker. The man was reportedly taken away by the cop and the "U Smile" singer himself was rushed back to the building by his bodyguards.

Onlookers claimed that the pop superstar was not injured but he seemed very "shaken up." A witness told WABC-TV, "I see that guy going around, but I didn't think anything about it, but all of a sudden he just jumped... Three guys were holding this guy back."
