The "American Idol" alum was briefly treated after coming down with "severe abdominal pains".

"After performing on 'Good Morning America' earlier today, Jennifer Hudson went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains," confirmed the 29-year-old songstress' representative. Offering further explanation, the rep said, "She was treated for food poisoning and released."

Before being taken to the hospital, the "Dreamgirls" actress performed a set for Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in Central Park's Rumsey Playfield. She was actually scheduled to follow it with an appearance on CBS' "The Early Show", but was forced to cancel it due to her illness.

Jennifer isn't the only celebrity being hospitalized recently. On Thursday night, June 9 after taping an interview for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", Disney darling Selena Gomez was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital. She was reportedly suffering from bad nausea and severe headache, and is said to still undergo routine tests.
