After the 'Idol' runner-up revealed she has gotten rejected twice by 'AGT' during a visit to 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno', judge Piers Morgan tweets that she had actually tried on three times.Lauren Alaina has left "America's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan red-faced. During an appearance on "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last Thursday night, May 26, the runner-up on season 10 of "American Idol" revealed she has gotten rejected from "AGT" twice before trying her luck on "Idol".
The 16-year-old singer made the shocking revelation after Piers praised her for being a better singer than "Idol" winner Scotty McCreery. "Want to hear something funny? I tried out for your show and didn't make it," so she claimed, leaving Piers with a surprised look on his face before saying, "Really? No!"
Delivering more shocking news to Piers, Lauren spilled, "Twice - and I got second place [on 'Idol'] and you denied me. I swear. Look it up... I didn't make it past the first round." It led 46-year-old Piers to exclaim, "This is scandal." The British journalist added, "This is now what Americans call... this is awkward."
Lauren continued on to say, "So, for all of the people who try out for 'America's Got Talent' and don't make it, try out for 'American Idol'!" Embarrassed by what he has learned, Piers covered his face with his hands and jokingly blamed the producers for missing out on her. He said, "I'm going to get these producers! The moment this finishes, I'm getting them!"
A day after the sit down on Friday, May 27, Piers took to his Twitter account to reveal a more embarrassing news. He wrote, "CORRECTION: My #nbcagt producers just told me it's wrong that @LAlainaAI10 was rejected twice for the show,. Apparently it was three times!"
