Former Employee Files Lawsuit Against Oprah’s OWN Network

A former employee of Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network filed a sex discrimination lawsuit against the channel on Friday (February 1).

Former Senior Director of Scheduling and Acquisitions Carolyn Hommel, claims she lost her job with the company because she got pregnant.

According to court documents, the employee, who was hired in 2010 had consistently high performance reviews before she had to take medical leave.

After returning to work, Ms. Hommel says she was passed over for a higher position when her superior fabricated a performance review.

The plaintiff is seeking unspecified damages. There has been no statement issued about the lawsuit by the network or Ms. Winfrey.
