People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story murdered the competition at the Golden Globes and took home the big prize. The show won in the category of Best TV Movie or Miniseries.

People v. O.J. Simpson is the first season of the FX True Crime Anthology series American Crime Story. It dramatizes the infamous case where former National Football League Star O.J Simpson was tried for the murder of his ex-wife and her friend. The show is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s 1997 book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson

The miniseries beat out some stiff competition. It won over well-received shows like American Crime, Night Manager, The Dresser, and The Night Of. Producer Nina Jacobson accepted the award on behalf of the miniseries.

This was by no means the only award People v. O.J. Simpson won. Just prior to the show’s win, Sarah Paulson took the Best Actress in a Miniseries Award for her role in the show as Marcia Clark.

This ceremony was the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards. It was hosted by Jimmy Fallon and the event was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

This is only the latest honor bestowed on People v. O.J. Simpson, which also won several Emmys a short while ago. The miniseries may be over now, but the accolades it has earned assure it will loom large in television history.
