The 2015 Producers Guild Awards took place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Saturday night, and with just one night to go until Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards and less than a month until the Oscars, Birdman's big PGA win makes the hit film the easy the frontrunner this awards season.
Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon and Eddie Redmayne were just some of the big names who turned out for the LA ceremony to support their films and producers. JLaw walked the red carpet with Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, who was presented with the Producers Guild of America's Milestone Award thanks to his work on films and TV shows like Mad Men, Orange Is the New Black, Precious, Crash, Divergent and of course The Hunger Games movies which star Jennifer.

As well as Feltheimer's award, 12 other gongs were handed out, with Birdman taking home the night's top honour, The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu's acclaimed film, which stars Michael Keaton, Emma Stone and Edward Norton, beat off fellow Best Picture Oscar nominees American Sniper, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash. The win is a huge boost for the quirky film. Since 1989, the winner of the Darryl F. Zanuck award for best producer has a 75% chance of winning the top prize at the Oscars, according to Deadline. And it could be a triumphant weekend for the film, with the Screen Actors Guild Awards taking place on Sunday evening, with Birdman up for four acting nods.

Producer Dan Lin couldn't help alluding to the Academy Award fail in his acceptance speech, telling the audience that the box office smash film has had “its share of wins and losses.” adding, “the real win has been the friends I've made along the way… so I thank my friends.”
