It’s A Girl For Tonight Show Host Jimmy Fallon

It's been a big week for Jimmy Fallon. The late night host welcomed his second child into the world on Wednesday, the same day he was named Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly. Jimmy and his wife Nancy chose to keep the pregnancy a secret until the baby's arrival, just as they had done with their first child, Winnie Rose, who was born in July of 2013.

The comedian and his wife chose a very traditional name for their new daughter.

“Frances Cole Fallon officially entered the world at 8:45 a.m. on December 3, weighing 5 lbs., 11 oz. and is 18.5 inches long,” a statement issued to People magazine read.

Both Frances and her older sister Winnie were born via gestational surrogacy. In 2013, Jimmy opened up during a Today Show interview about why he and Nancy, his wife of seven years, turned to surrogacy to have their children.

“My wife and I had been trying for awhile to have a baby,” he said. “We've tried a bunch of different things … anyone who's tried, knows — it's awful. So we had a surrogate.”

Jimmy often talks about fatherhood while hosting The Tonight Show. He has published two children's books, the second of which was released in October.

After the news of Frances' birth circulated on Wednesday, Jimmy tweeted to thank fans and mentioned the sweet nickname he is already using for his daughter.

“Franny sends her thanks,” he wrote.
