The Hunger Games Franchise May Continue After Mockingjay!

If, like us, you're both eagerly awaiting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, but at the same time dreading the moment you've watched the Hunger Games for the final time, then we might have some pretty day-making news for you!

Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence has said that there could possibly be more films in the franchise once Mockingjay - Part 2 is completed.

Speaking to MTV about extending the series, Lawrence said: "Everybody is thinking about it, and talking about it.

"I just think that one has to go into that world carefully. Because I think a huge part of what makes the stories great is that it was really built on this idea of the consequence of war, and you have an amazing character like Katniss at the centre of it."

Given the success of the current Hunger Games franchise, the director has said that expanding the series would however be a really risky decision. "To just say, 'Oh, we're still in the Hunger Games world', I think is really risky, and you need to make sure that you have something new to say, and either new characters need to be created that are just as compelling as Katniss," he explained.

But is the filmmaker up for the challenge? You bet! "It's a tricky thing, but I'm definitely open to talking about it, and I think everybody's thinking about it. Everybody loves the world and the ideas."

What do you guys think? Should The Hunger Games continue or is it always best to leave audiences wanting more?
