Macaulay Culkin has fallen foul of a second death hoax in a year after reports circulated online that he had suddenly passed away earlier in the week. The actor is in fact alive and well.
Macaulay, 34, seemingly fell victim to the hoax when a fake tribute page was set up on Facebook for fans to leave their messages of condolence for the Home Alone star which included a false statement confirming his 'death.'
The posting read: “At about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday (November 06, 2014), our beloved actor Macaulay Culkin passed away. Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
The page - reportedly named RIP Macaulay Culkin - has since been removed from the social networking site. However prior to it's removal it gathered 'likes' numbering in to the hundreds of thousands with devastated fans leaving their messages of heartbreak over the loss of the actor.

But their grief was short-lived with proof of him being very much alive and healthy popping up on social media pages belonging his his band Pizza Underground in the form of several photos.
One picture - which was uploaded on Friday - shows the group sitting around a laptop with Macaulay right in the middle. Another shows him holding up a bottle of soft drink in a grocery store as he grins at the camera wearing dark sunglasses.
Fans have now reacted angrily to the hoax hitting out at it's originators for being irresponsible for spreading the rumour and causing such distress. Others have joked about the incident with one online user writing: "I'm hearing rumours that Macaulay Culkin is dead. Has anyone been round his house? He's probably there. Alone."
