Keira Knightley may be a global actress but she has been refreshingly honest about her life behind closed doors with husband James Righton, admitting that being domestic is hardly her speciality and she has hired a cleaner to keep their home in top shape - although she did try it herself once...
The Imitation Game actress shares a home in north London with her Klaxons husband, whom she married last year, but she won't be found with a duster in hand or giving the floor a once over with the hoover as Keira admits she avoids cleaning at all costs. In an interview with the Press Association, Keira explained: “I'm a terrible cleaner, really bad. Luckily I have a cleaner to come to the house once a week, otherwise my house would be completely horrendous, and she's brilliant. And she often looks at me and she's like 'Did you try and do something with that?' And I say 'I tried to make it look good', and she's like, 'Don't'. Maybe [cleaning's] not my thing.”
Aside from the cleaning, married life is going pretty well with Keira gushing over her 2013 wedding to the British rocker in an interview with Glamour magazine, revealing: "It was a bloody good day and a lot of fun. And yes, being married feels pretty good. You only get to choose one member of your family and I made a good choice. So well done, me!” When asked if she feels married life has changed her at all, Keira said: "Actually, I feel less grown-up as I go along. I reached my peak of grown-up behaviour at 20 and 21, and it's been downhill since then. I was terribly sensible as a teenager but I've got far less so as I've grown up, which has been a huge relief for everyone - including my parents.”
