Talking in a new interview with Maria Schriver for The Today Show Jennifer admits that before she went her separate ways with Hollywood star Ben she had no idea how it really felt to suffer that much pain as a result of love - despite having already been married twice.
In the chat Jennifer is discussing her new memoirs True Love when Maria points out how quickly she moved on to ex-husband and father of her twin children Max and Emme, 6, Marc Anthony after the split.
Jennifer, 45, then agrees with her and points out that it was hard to realise the relationship wasn't right because she just needed the support he offered her so badly at the time.
She said: "Right, you're absolutely right. It was probably my first big heartbreak, and to have one of my best friends who I'd known for years, who I actually love and did have chemistry with, come into my life and say, 'I'm here'...What you need to know is, nobody can save you or heal you. Only you can do that for you."
And following her split from dancer boyfriend Casper Smart earlier this year Jennifer is adamant that she now just wants to take some time out from dating and dsicover more about herself before she shares her life with another man.
