Elle Fanning Is Completely Unrecognizable While Shooting Scenes For New Movie

Elle Fanning looked like a totally different person as she filmed scenes for her upcoming film Three Generations on Tuesday. Elle, who is the little sister of actress Dakota Fanning, has ditched her long blond hair for a short, orange-hued ‘;do. Her normally glamorous and girly clothing has been replaced by masculine-looking flannels and work boots for her role in the movie. Elle portrays Ray, a transgender male, in the film.

On Tuesday, Elle was photographed looking worse for the wear after filming a fight scene for the film in New York City. The 16-year-old actress got physical with one of her male co-stars for the scene, kicking, punching and choking him for the cameras.

Three Generations, which is set to premiere sometime in 2015, also stars Susan Sarandon and Naomi Watts. Over the course of the film Elle's character will transition from female to male, as her mother (played by Naomi) and grandmother (played by Susan) watch. On Monday, Elle was spotted at a Brooklyn, New York, skateboarding park filming scenes for the movie.

Elle has been known to take on daring roles. In 2008, she starred as a young girl suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder and Tourette's syndrome, and earlier this year she played a pregnant 14-year-old girl in the movie Young Ones. In May she told Interview Magazine what it's like to portray characters that are very different from how she is in real life.

“To me, acting is just kind of making believe and dressing up,” she said. “You put on your costume and walk a certain way and feel your character. Then cut, and you're Elle again.”
