Their breakup is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, as over the weekend Chris Martin threw a big cocktail party for his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Coldplay rocker invited Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson and a slew of other guests to the shindig, and it sounds like they were on great terms.

An insider told press, “Gwyneth and Chris were very friendly to each other. It was like they’re still best friends.”

Meanwhile, Paltrow is said to approve of Martin’s new main squeeze Jennifer Lawrence. "Chris, Gwyneth and Jennifer were all in LA earlier this month, so Gwyneth suggested a friendly lunch between her and Jennifer. They met at her Brentwood home and drank tea and ate homemade scones while chatting in the garden. Gwyn broke the ice by telling Jen she's happy Chris wound up with such a smart, beautiful woman.”
