Despite there being initial reports that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are dating, the Oscar winner dismissed such chatter in a new interview.

On the rumors, Foxx explained, ”[The rumors] are 100 percent not true. In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people.”

The event in question was the 4th annual Apollo in the Hamptons benefit in East Hampton, N.Y., on Saturday, Aug. 24.

A Holmes pal told Us Weekly that the two “weren’t flirting and have been friends a long time.” However, Foxx may have tried it, only he was unsuccessful.

An eyewitness claimed Foxx “grabbed her butt and tried to seal the deal” after a dance. But alas, ”She was flattered, but not interested.”

If you recall, Foxx worked with Katie’s ex, Tom Cruise, on the 2004 film Collateral.
