Gearing up for another exciting season of talent-filled fun, Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland, Demi Lovato, and Paulina Rubio showed up at Fox’s “The X Factor” auditions in Los Angeles last night (July 11).

The fabulous foursome hammed it up for the shutterbugs at the Galen Center before heading inside to conduct a new round of competition.

And it sounds like Demi has an awkward moment when one contestant made reference to her late father who passed away last month.

An insider told press, “One kid got up on stage to sing and when the judges asked him about his motivation for singing he mentioned a family member that had recently died. He then voiced his condolences to Demi for just losing her father and she didn’t even respond. All the judges kind of froze and told him to sing. Instead of critiquing him or discussing his performance, all the judges just said ‘no’ and they basically rushed him off the stage.”
