A source close to Zac reveals that the ‘New Year’s Eve’ actor realizes that he feels miserable without the ‘Beastly’ actress and he wants her back.It’s been a year after Zac Efron split from Vanessa Hudgens, but he reportedly still has a feeling for her. Rumor has it, the actor who will soon be seen in star-studded romantic comedy “New Year’s Eve” wants to rekindle his romance with the “Beastly” actress.

A source close to Zac claims to Star magazine that the 24-year-old actor has been trying to win Vanessa’s heart back. “Zac realized that he’s miserable without her,” so says the source. “He’s tired of meaningless hookups.”

However, the source states that Vanessa is still hesitating to reunite with Zac. She reportedly wants to make sure that her ex-boyfriend is serious about committing before deciding to be back on with him. “She’s going to make him work hard before she forgives him completely,” reveals the insider.

Zac and Vanessa split in December 2010 after four years dating. Back in March this year, Vanessa revealed to Shape magazine that the reason of their break-up was because of the distance between them. “Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what,” she confessed. “When you don’t have face-to-face time, it’s just different. Having an iPhone helped, but it wasn’t the same.”
