Could Pippa Middleton be the new Nigella?

Watch out Nigella, it sounds like there could be a new domestic goddess on the block.

She’s every bit as posh, has the same swishy hair and already has legions of male admirers.

But would you want to take cooking tips from Pippa Middleton?

Yes, it seems that when she’s not taking part in triathlons or showing off her world-famous behind, P.Middy is a whizz in the kitchen.

Soon after she left school she successfully completed an intensive four-week stint at a prestigious £3,600-a-month cookery school, where her tutors described her as “an asset to any kitchen.”

Pippa impressed tutors by cooking a three-course dinner, which was “beautifully cooked and well presented.”

She took the course in summer 2002 at The Grange in Frome, Somerset.

Jane Averill, proprietor of The Grange, told the Mail on Sunday: “Judging by our notes, Pippa was as a good a student as we will ever see. She came to us after finishing her A-Levels, probably as part of her gap year. The students are mostly from private schools and they hope to use a reference from us to get work while they are off travelling or to get a job in a ski resort.”

For her assessment dinner, Pippa served up saffron scallops with spinach and sweet tomato pickle. She then made pan fried red snapper with mashed potato, French beans and red pepper relish. For desert she created a caramelised banana bavarois.

One of her tutors, Mr Averill’s ex-husband William, said: “I tasted the meal she produced and it was absolutely excellent. She got a reference which would have impressed any employer running a professional kitchen.”

The notes on Pippa held by The Grange read: “She was hard-working, receptive, took every opportunity to learn as much as possible and developed into a competent cook.

“She chose a very successful menu to stretch her ability. She showed great interest, worked hard and efficiently and needed no help producing a beautifully cooked and well-presented menu which we all enjoyed very much.

“She showed good kitchen skills, has a confident personality and got on well with everyone at The Grange. She is capable, well-motivated, reliable and an asset in any kitchen.”
