Following the news of TBS’ decision not to renew “Lopez Tonight,” George Lopez took it upon himself to score the last laughs by poking fun at the show’s cancellation on the episode before last.
With the last ever new episode of “Lopez Tonight” airing Thursday night on TBS, Lopez answered his most-often asked question since the announcement: “What are you going to do now?”
“Like every TV star before me, I’ma find some crack,” Lopez joked. “I’ma get on the pipe.”
Lopez was poking fun of another television star left jobless recently, Charlie Sheen. “I’m taking it good, but my goddesses are a wreck… they left me,” he said. “And I’m losing teeth.”
Lopez also joked that with unemployment at an all-time high for Latinos, it just got a little higher. But it’s not all bad news for Lopez, who voices Grouchy in this summer’s hit “Smurfs” film.
“Big news: Sony just announced they’re doing a sequel to the Smurf’s movie, so today I lost some work because I’m brown, but I got some work because I’m blue,” he joked.
