Celebrating Ashley's 26th birthday over the weekend, Zac is seen getting cozy with his former 'High School Musical' co-star as he gives her a piggyback ride at one point of the day.Zac Efron has been snapped enjoying togetherness with his former "High School Musical" co-star Ashley Tisdale who was celebrating her 26th birthday on Saturday, July 2 at a beachside in Malibu, Calif. Wearing only beach shorts, Zac was seen inseparable with the bikini-clad Ashley. Zac and the birthday girl Ashley were frolicking on the sandy beach that day. At one point, the "Hairspray" actor gave the "Aliens in the Attic" actress a playful piggyback ride as they went back to a nearby friend's house to continue the celebration.
On the special day, Ashley took to her Twitter and thanked her longtime pal for cheering her, writing, "So happy zacary made it to my party!!! He's my brother/best friend!!!" She added in another tweet, "Had such a great birthday party yesterday! I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends, family, and man in my life! #grateful."
Rumor that followed his outing with Ashley suggested Zac was actually trying to catch his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens' attention by hanging out with her BFF. According to Hollywood Life, the "17 Again" actor still has a strong feeling for the "Beastly"actress.
"Zac is still not over Vanessa," a source said. "His heart is broken and he can't get over her. He may seem happy on the outside, but inside he is hurting. He regrets ever ending his relationship with Vanessa. And seeing Vanessa with Josh Hutcherson just drives him crazy. He wants Vanessa back!"
