Amy Winehouse Said She’d Be ‘Dead in Ditch, on Fire’

Following the news about the ‘Rehab’ hitmaker’s death, it’s revealed that the singer once said she’d be dead ten years after launching her first album is released. After news that Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse was found dead on Saturday, July 23, The Wrap’s Chris Willman released an interview with the late singer that took place a few years ago. At that time, the English singer told the interviewer that she’d be “dead in a ditch, on fire.”

It was her answer to a question about where she’d be in the 10 years to come after her first album “Frank” came out. Back then, Willman replied if Winehouse might plan to start a family and be a happy housewife with three kids, but the songstress only replied, “Is that a proposition?”

Winehouse was found dead alone in her bed by a security guard. Her rep, Chris Goodman, confirmed, “There was no wild party, she died alone in bed. Amy was on her own at home, apart from a security guard who we had appointed to help look after her over the past couple of years.”

Goodman explained, “She was in her bedroom and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing.” The rep continued, “He called emergency services. He was very shocked.” The cause behind Winehouse’s death is still pending autopsy results, and it was tentatively declared as “unexplained”.

Winehouse’s family has also spoken out in a statement about how they’re feeling bereaved over the singer’s death. “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece,” said father Mitch, mother Janis and brother Alex. “She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.”

Meanwhile, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kelly Osbourne, Samantha Ronson, Pete Wentz and Tony Bennett are among Winehouse’s celeb BFFs who issued their condolences on Twitter. Additionally, Perry’s husband Russell Brand penned a tribute letter on his website.

Katy tweeted, “RIP Amy Winehouse. May she finally find peace,” while Rihanna wrote, “I am genuinely heartbroken about this #DearAmy.” Ronson posted, “In Memoriam: Amy Winehouse,” while Wentz tweeted, “super sad to hear about the news. RIP. never take life for granted.” Brand, meanwhile, remembered her as a “f***ing genius.”
