Following the end of season 10, rumor flies on the web suggesting the new "Idol" runner-up is dating fellow former finalist Scotty.

When asked by reporters about the truth behind the rumor, both of the aspiring singers played it coy. "They asked if we were dating and I told them to ask you!" Lauren said to Scotty. He laughed in return, saying "I mean, I'll never tell." He jokingly gushed, "Secret's safe with me!"

The romance rumor has been running on the web for quite some time, and it's fueled when 16-year-old Lauren landed a smooch on Scotty after Ryan Seacrest announced his as the winner. "Everybody keeps asking me about the smooch," Scotty said after the show.

The 17-year-old guy continued, "She told me she was gonna do that before the show. She's a sweetheart." He continued singing praise for her, "She's a character, isn't she? We're really close friends... I don't know about the dating part. She's just being funny."
